Wages Reunion Game Rules

For 3-6 players, cut-throat or teams (4 & 6 players)

Need 5 decks of regulation poker decks with Jokers (6 decks recommended for 5 & 6 players cut-throat)

OBJECT:
To score the highest points after 4 hands of play

STARTING:
Each player takes a portion of the cards and deals two 11 card piles.

Each player then gives their two 11 card piles to the player on the left.

The remaining cards are set in one stack (or two, players preference) and one card turned up to start the discard pile.
If the 1st card turned up is wild (2's or Jokers) then it is inserted back into the stack and another turned up.

Each player picks one of the 11 card hands dealt to them to begin the play. This will be referred to as the "HAND" The
other 11 card pile must be left unturned and will be referred to as the "FOOT". The "HAND" must be completely used
before the "FOOT" is seen or played.

GOAL:
To be the first player to play all their cards in their "HAND" & "FOOT". But before one may "GoOut", the player/team
must complete at least 1 "Black Book" & 1 "Red Book". You are not required to discard to go out.

PLAYING:
The first player to begin play is detemnined by players preference and the following three hands to be started by the
next player clockwise. Play will consist of each player to first take two cards from the draw pile(s) or taking of the
discard pile, then by playing on the board creating books, and discarding one card in one's turn before the next player
may play. Before a player may lay down on the table, each must have enough points to initially meet each levels meld.

BOOKS:
The object of each hand will be to make a minimum of 1 "Red Book" & 1 "Black Book". A "Red Book" will consist of
7 matching cards without any wild cards. A "Black Book" will have a minimum 4 matching cards with the remaining 3
cards being wild. Each book must have at least 3 cards to be able to lay on the board with no more wild cards than
naturals. You may have the same number of wild as natural cards but not more wild than natural. Once a book has been
completed, it must be stacked with a red card on top to indicate a "Red book" or a blck card on top to indicate a
"Black book". Players may make more books to increase their score before deciding to "Go Out"

(NOTE) 3's may not be used to make books.

MELDS:
HAND / POINTS to initiate play
1st / 50
2nd / 90
3rd / 120
4th / 150
example: two 7's and a Joker = 60 points (7's are worth 5 points and a Joker is worth 50 points)

DISCARD PILE:
Players are not allowed to look at previous discards. Only the top card should be visible.

Drawing from the discard pile for the first time requires the player to have a natural pair of the top card.
(Two 7's if a 7 is showing)

After the discard pile has been broken (drawn from for the first time), further draws require that you have at least
a natural of the card showing and a wild card. (One 7 & a wild card if a 7 is showing) or an incomplete book already
on the board.

When drawing from the discard pile, players must take the top seven cards, unless there are less than seven cards
available, then the entire discard pile is drawn. The top card must be played on the board and cannot be placed in
the hand. (Please show the ability to draw from the discard pile before doing so.)

Only the top card of the pile may be used for meld, the remaining meld must be made up of cards from your hand.
Once the meld is met, the rest of the cards may be played on the board.

A player may not draw from the pile if the top card is a 3 or a Wild card.

Discarding a wild card: If a wild card is discarded on the pile, this is called "FREEZING" the discard pile. This
action requires that no player may draw from the pile until all players have completed one turn, ending with the
player who placed the wild card. Now the pile returns to it's un-broken status requiring a natural pair to draw
from it.

A player may not draw from the pile if the top card is the same as one of a completed book on their board.

BURN CARDS:
Once a book is complted a player may not start another book of the same cards. Any further matching cards may
be "BURNED" into the completed books to be kept for more total points. Burn cards cannot be used to draw from
the discard pile, but may be kept and used as discards.

SCORING:
Points = Cards
50 = Joker
20 = 2's Wild
20 = Aces
10 = 8 - King
5 = 4-7
5 = Black 3's
-500 = Red 3's (Don't get caught with these when someone goes out)
300 = Black Book
500 = Red Book
300 = For going Out

ADDING UP YOUR POINTS:
After one player or team has gone out, add up the "Base points" (this is the total of all completed books.) Add up
all played cards (cards on the board), this includes the cards that made up all completed books. Add 300 points
for going out. Subtract all cards that are left in your "HAND" & "FOOT". This is your total for that hand.
